Around 1990–1991 He visited Wat Pa Ban Tat to pay respects to Luang Ta Phra Maha Bua Yansampanno and learned several meditation-related there. He was instructed by Luang Ta Phra Maha Bua to locate a spot in the forest, practice accelerated asceticism there for five years, and then leave the area. He choose the Phu Langka mountain range, which was east of Luang Poo Wang Thitisaro, who had built glory in this region, as his meditation location. He consented to heed Luang Ta Phra Maha Bua’s guidance.
He located a location beside a long cliff, which is now the location of Wat Tham Saeng Dhamma). He was in this mountain during the early weeks of Lent, although few people were aware of it. Since he prayed to the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Arhat, “Sathu, please the Buddha, the Dharma, the Arhat, if people come, please do not let them know that I am here, because I will persevere, practice the Dhamma fully.”
He practiced walking meditation all day long. There were four or five large bayan trees nearby that covered the entrance to the cave where he lived. People later passed by the cave, but he was living there and nobody knew it, so he didn’t say greeting to them and just kept on with his meditation. In order to prevent people from discovering where he was staying in the morning, he would distribute alms to various villages. He did this out of concern that it would hinder his perseverance and make it intermittent. He also performed asceticism, went for walks, meditated, and went without food and sleep for several months.
Sometimes, without getting enough sleep for three months straight while thinking about the Dhamma, practicing mindfulness, developing wisdom, hammering passions, and being unaware of the night. Sometimes, in order to become enlightened in his mind about the Dhamma that is taken into account, He must practice for weeks. The Dhamma practice he has engaged in since arriving at this Wat Tham Saeng Dhamma Cave has been miraculous. He has shown up in a variety of Buddhist stories, whether they are about ghosts or not. Stories about spirits, angels, and serpents, depending on whether they are true or untrue.
